Gas Water Heater Repair, Replacement, and Installation
Gas water heaters have been the popular choice in homes throughout Dallas for decades. The inexpensive investment, low monthly costs and the result of near endless hot water have made them a family favorite for a while. The operation of a gas water heater is simple, yet effective for optimal efficiency. A burner at the bottom of the water heater is ignited using either natural gas or propane to provide the necessary heat to warm the water in the tank. A flue, where the exhaust gasses run through, is centered in the hot water heater and is also a second form of heating the water in the tank. The energy cut off (ECO) switch is located inside of the tank and when the water heats to a preset temperature, the switch will shut the burner off so excess fuel is not wasted and the water is not overly heated.

First-Hour Rating
The First-Hour Rating, or FHR, is a measure of hot water capacity within your tank. You may have an 80 gallon tank, but if your tank has a low FHR, you may not get the hot water you need. If you and your family use 40 gallons of water while getting ready in the morning, you’ll need an FHR higher than 40 to meet your demands. If you need help determining the FHR level for your family’s needs, we can have a professional evaluate and select a tank with an FHR that’s great enough to meet your demands.
Why a gas water heater?
A gas water heater provides many benefits at costs substantially lower than many alternatives:
- Greater tank capacity up to 80 gallons and more
- High First-Hour Rating
- Low purchasing cost
- Minimal maintenance and low monthly costs
- Life expectancy of the tank is 12+ years
